We consulted and found that the general concensous from Ireland was that those in Northern Ireland should be given the opportunity as dual citizens, so Northen Irish athletes can compete either for the UK or for Ireland.
Those in Southern Ireland will compete as Ireland and can enter our championship as OPEN athletes representing Ireland. There have been a number of attempts to start a Federation in Ireland but as we type this your Federation is not yet active, so in the mean time we are very happy to help you if needed. Please don't hesitate to get in touch and we look forward to welcoming you the the Championship weekend as Irish Open Athletes.
Only Elite level athletes will qualify for the IPSF World Championship. So if your dream is to compete at the worlds then you must enter and compete in the Elite category. Please not; there are no pre-novices in the world championship, you can only qualify from the age of 10 and up to compete in the worlds.
Yes, you can bring your instructor with you, but they will not be allowed backstage or in the warm up area (unless you are a youth or a ParaPole athlete)
The only people allowed to be backstage or in the warm up area are IPSF Approved coaches and chaperones. Why not ask your instructor to train to be an IPSF approved coach? That way they can accompany you backstage, help to train other athletes and earn an extra income from hosting/teaching at training camps.
Yes of course, but they can not go backstage with you or in the warm up areas.
Yes, you can in artistic pole and artistic aerial hoop. Please refer to the Code of Points for the artistic categories. You can go wild with props, including 'human props' but the stage must be able to be set up and taken down within a small time frame - check out the rules in the Code of Points for the full information. We look forward to seeing what you can come up with!
